The Chukar Cherry Company Announces a Nationwide Recall of Products Containing Pistashios because of possible health risks.
(April 2, 2009) -- Chukar Cherry Co. of Prosser, WA announced that it is voluntarily recalling from nationwide distribution specific "best before" dates (122009 thru 042010 only) of Chukur brand and Norm Thompson brand packaged products containing pistachios from Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. sold directly to consumers or resellers due to potential contamination with the Salmonella organism.
Chukar Cherry has recieved no reports of illness related to their products containing pistachios; the company is issuing this recall as a precaution.
This potential contamination is not related to the recent peanut recalls.
This voluntary recall only affects products containing shelled, roasted pistachios shipped on or after October 27th, 2008. The packaged products were distributed throughout the United States via various retail outlets and gift shops as well as Chukar retail stores, mail order catalog, and internet store.

The products Pizzazz carries of the 2oz and 8oz bags of Chocolate cherry nut mixes, Nuts over Bings, or Triple Cherry Nut mixes that contain Pistachios have been cleared from these dates of "best before" (120909 thru 042010) and are not affected by this recall. No other code dates or Chukar products are impacted!

Pizzazz Gift Baskets & Gifts - A Taste of Washington Recalls Anna's Pantry Cocktail Snack Mixes and Honey Roasted Peanuts that contain Peanuts Because of possible Health Risk!
Pizzazz of Olympia, WA is recalling Anna's Pantry 3oz cello bags and 7oz cello bags of Cocktail Snack mixes and 1.5oz cello bags of Honey Roasted Peanuts packaged by Anna's Pantry of Redmond, WA because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The snack mixes and honey roasted peanuts were manufactured using peanut products recalled by Peanut Corporation of America because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakend immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea ( which may be bloody), nausea,vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditic and arthritis.
*Persons who think they may have become ill from eating peanut products are advised to consult their health care providers.
*If consumers are unsure whether a peanut-containing product is potentially contaminated, they should avoid consuming it or feeding it to their child or pet until they obtain more information regarding the product(s)!
*Consumers are urged to check the FDA's web site to determine which products have been recalled and will be recalled in the coming days.

Anna's Pantry 3oz and 7oz cello bags of Cocktail snack mixes and 1.5oz cello bags of honey roasted peanuts were distributed in Olympia, WA in the retail store of Pizzazz and nationwide in some of the gift baskets Pizzazz Gift Baskets & Gifts - A Taste of Washington shipped to consumers and gift recipients.
Consumers who have purchased or receive a gift containing Anna's Pantry Cocktail snack mixes or Anna's Pantry Honey roasted peanuts are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Only products containing peanuts are affected, the other snacks and nuts we carry from Anna's Pantry and other companies are fine and not part of this voluntary recall.
